Description

The Republic of Guinea has undergone several constitutional changes since its independence in 1958. The most recent constitution was adopted in 2020 through a referendum held on March 22, 2020, and promulgated on April 7, 2020. This constitution established Guinea as a unitary, indivisible, secular, democratic, and social republic, ensuring equality before the law for all citizens without distinction of origin, race, ethnicity, sex, religion, or opinion. However, this Constitution was suspended on 2021.  A Constitutional review process in on going.
