The Republic of Türkiye, commonly known as Türkiye, is located at the crossroads of southeastern Europe and western Asia, bordered by Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Its capital, Ankara, is the seat of government. Türkiye is a unitary state with a presidential system of government, where the president serves as head of state and head of government. 

Türkiye is party to the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees and the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons. It is not party to the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness.
