Description

The Constitution of Turkmenistan establishes the country as a democratic and sovereign republic. It outlines the structure of the government, the rights of citizens, and the state's international responsibilities. Article 11 states that Turkmenistan, in line with universally accepted international law standards and as stipulated by its own legal framework, shall grant refuge to foreign nationals and stateless individuals.

Selected provisions
Article 60. Right to judicial protection

Everyone shall be guaranteed judicial protection of honour and dignity, rights and freedoms as stipulated by the Constitution and laws.

Everyone shall have the right to appeal in the court against the decisions and actions of
the state bodies, public associations, local self-governments and ofcials.

Article 11

Foreign nationals and stateless persons shall enjoy the rights and freedoms, and bear the responsibilities as the citizens of Turkmenistan in accordance with law and international treaties of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan, in accordance with universally recognized norms of international law and in the manner prescribed by law shall give refuge to foreign citizens and stateless persons.
