National Shelter Strategy (2017-2020)
Year: 2017
Type: Domestic policy
Rights Category: Housing, land & property
Description
The strategy is jointly prepared and adopted by the Refugees and Returnees Services (RRS) and the UNHCR - based on the directions set out under the UNHCR Global Shelter Strategy 2014 -2018. The underlying vision that led to the adoption of the strategy is that the right to adequate housing, as first recognized under Article 25 (1) of the UDHR - (and as including security of tenure, availability of services, affordability, habitability, accessibility, location, and cultural adequacy) - is applicable in all stages of the displacement cycle and is relevant to all people of concern.
