Description
The Ethiopian Human Rights Action Plan (NHRAP) 2016-2020 was a roadmap aimed at improving the respect, protection, and fulfillment of human rights in Ethiopia. the road map comes to life with a goal of creating conditions conducive to better human rights protection and of build on previous successes and improve coordination.
Selected provisions
• Implementation of the Roadmap prepared to prevent deaths related to ethnic and tribal conflicts, including continuing awareness raising activities to promote values of tolerance, peaceful co-existence, and peaceful resolution of conflicts in areas predominantly affected by such kind of conflicts. Strengthen traditional conflict resolution mechanisms and hold accountable those found guilty of committing such crimes. The responsible groups for the implementation were Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Bureaus, Federal Attorney General and regional Justice Bureaus, Federal and Pastoralist Affairs Ministry, Federal and regional police commissions. The performance indicator shows that in the year 2016-2020 Number of organized consultation platforms held with number of participants and Number of persons held accountable.
