Decree 16/2020 of the Minister of Interior of 17 June on the procedure concerning the statement of intent for the purpose of lodging an asylum application establishes the procedure for submitting a statement of intent to apply for asylum. Foreign nationals must personally submit a form at a Hungarian embassy, provide identification, and may be interviewed remotely. No fees apply, and decisions are communicated within set deadlines.
