This Act establishes South Africa’s legal framework for regulating the entry, stay, and departure of non-citizens. It defines various admission categories (visitors, diplomats, students, business persons, workers, asylum seekers, etc.), prescribes the conditions and procedures for issuing, renewing, or cancelling temporary and permanent residence permits, and sets out the rights and obligations of foreigners and sponsoring entities (e.g., employers, educational institutions).
