Description
The purpose of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act is to provide for fair management over the entry and departure procedures of all persons in Japan, the residence of foreign nationals in Japan, as well as consolidate the recognition procedures of the refugee status.
Note: This Act was amended on 21 June 2024 (date of promulgation) by the Act Partially Amending the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act as well as the Act on Proper Technical Intern Training and Protection of Technical Intern Trainees. This Japanese version is the most up-to-date in force (as of August 2025). However, there is no official English translation of the amended act available as of August 2025.
