The 2018 Guinean Asylum and Refugee Protection Law establishes a national framework for recognizing and protecting refugees and asylum-seekers without discrimination; it defines who qualifies for refugee status, sets out detailed procedures for application, determination, appeal and durable solutions, enumerates the rights (e.g., access to work, education, health care, freedom of movement, non-refoulement) and obligations of refugees, provides special measures for vulnerable groups and mass influxes, and creates institutional bodies (including a national refugee commission and a permanent eligibility committee) to oversee implementation.
