Description

The Constitutional Document of 2019, signed on August 17, 2019, outlines Sudan's transitional governance framework. It establishes a power-sharing Sovereignty Council with both military and civilian members, appoints a Prime Minister, and guarantees civil and political rights. The document provides for transitional justice and sets the stage for democratic elections, guiding Sudan through its transition to a fully civilian government.

Article 48 - Equality before the Law

People are equal before the law, and have the right to the protection of the law without discrimination between them on the basis of ethnicity, color, gender, language, religious faith, political opinion, racial or ethnic origin, or any other reason.

Article 53 - Right to Litigate

The right to litigate is guaranteed for all. No one shall be deprived of the right to resort to the justice system.
