Description
The Preamble of the Constitution commits the Czech Republic to "build, protect and develop" the country in the spirit of human dignity and freedom, with respect for human rights and the principles of civil society. It defines the country as sovereign, unitary, and democratic based on respect for human rights and the freedoms of individuals and citizens.
