Description

The French Constitution, which is primarily based on the Constitution of the Fifth Republic (adopted in 1958), outlines the structure of the French state, fundamental rights, and the duties of citizens.  It stipulates that France is an indivisible, secular, democratic, and social Republic. The Constitution ensures equality before the law for all citizens without distinction of origin, race, or religion.
