Description

The Law of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 91, "On Legal Aid Guaranteed by the State," dated August 10, 2022 (as amended by Law No. 58 of February 27, 2024), aims to implement access to justice, ensure fair judicial proceedings, and establish an efficient, fair, accountable, and rights-protective justice system. 

This law regulates the provision of state-guaranteed legal aid, applying to citizens, foreign citizens, stateless persons, and refugees as specified. It defines the organizational, legal, socio-economic, financial, informational, and control foundations of state-guaranteed legal aid, and establishes the legal status and powers of the coordinating authority in this field.

Article 13 - Persons entitled to receive qualified legal assistance in the field of criminal proceedings

1. The right to receive qualified legal assistance in the field of criminal proceedings is granted to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as foreign citizens, stateless persons, and refugees.
