Description
The Constitution of Iraq, ratified in 2005, establishes the country as a federal parliamentary republic while addressing asylum and nationality. The right to political asylum is addressed in Article 21, which states a law shall regulate the right of political asylum in Iraq and that no political refugee shall be handed over to a foreign entity or returned forcibly to the country from which he fled.
