Description
The Constitution of Mali establishes the fundamental identity, values and institutional framework of the Malian state. It provides in article 12 that no one may be compelled into exile and that any person persecuted due to their political or religious beliefs, or their ethnic affiliation, may benefit from the right of asylum in the country. Title I enshrines the sacred, inviolable nature of the individual and guarantees a broad catalogue of civil, political, economic and social rights.
