Description

The Constitution of Togo establishes the Togolese Republic as a democratic and secular state. It includes provisions on the protection of individual rights, equality before the law, and the sovereignty of the people. Article 22 states that any foreigner "in regular situation" on Togolese territory who complies with the laws in force has the right to move freely, choose their residence, and leave the country without restriction.
