Description
The Constitution of Peru establishes the foundation for a sovereign, democratic, and social state. It outlines the rights and responsibilities of both citizens and foreigners, guaranteeing fundamental freedoms, equality, and legal protection. Article 36 recognizes "political asylum. It accepts the qualification of the asylum seeker granted by the granting government. In case of expulsion, the asylum seeker will not be handed over to the country whose government is persecuting them."
