(Unofficial translation) The insertion is the procedure by which the full text of a record issued by an authority other than the Civil Registrar or the extract of a judicial decision is incorporated into the respective Registry Book, so that the acts or facts relating to the civil status of persons have full legal effect according to the provisions of the Organic Law of Civil Registry.

La inserción es el procedimiento mediante el cual se incorpora en el Libro de Registro respectivo, el texto íntegro de un acta emitida por autoridad distinta al Registrador o registradora Civil o del extracto de una decisión judicial, con el objeto de que surtan plenos efectos jurídicos los actos o hechos relativos al estado civil de las personas según lo dispuesto en la Ley Orgánica de Registro Civil
