Description
The purpose of this Act is to prescribe basic matters relating to the treatment and others of foreigners residing in the Republic of Korea to help them adjust to Korean society to make full use of their abilities and to create a social environment in which Korean nationals and foreigners residing in the Republic of Korea understand and respect one another, thereby contributing to the development and social integration of the Republic of Korea.

Framework Act on Treatment of Foreigners Residing in the Republic of Korea - Generic
The State and local governments shall endeavor to take necessary measures, such as the conduct of education and publicity activities, to prevent unreasonable discrimination against foreigners residing in the Republic of Korea and their children and to safeguard their human rights.
The State and local governments shall endeavor to take measures such as education, publicity, and correction of unreasonable institutions, etc. to ensure that Koreans and foreigners residing in the Republic of Korea understand and respect each other's history, culture and institutions.
