Description
Madrasa education is officially recognized in Bangladesh through this Ordinance. By virtue of section 3, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board is established. The Board is responsible for the overall Madrasa Education as outlined under section 17.

Section 2: Definitions
In this Ordinance, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,–
(n) “Madrasah” means a traditional religious institution of Islamic learning and includes Furquania Madrasah, Ibtedayee Madrasah, Dakhil Madrasah, Alim Madrasah, Fazil Madrasah and Kamil Madrasah;
