Description

The Constitution of Algeria establishes the country as a Democratic and Popular Republic. Article 50 specifies that refugees granted asylum are safeguarded from extradition.

Article 50 - Non refoulement

Tout étranger qui se trouve légalement sur le territoire national jouit, pour sa personne et pour ses biens, de la protection de la loi. Nul ne peut être extradé, si ce n'est en vertu d’une convention internationale dûment ratifiée ou d’une loi.

En aucun cas, un réfugié politique bénéficiant légalement du droit d'asile ne peut être livré ou extradé.
