Description

The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection of Citizens' Health” establishes the legal, economic, and organizational framework for ensuring the protection of public health. It guarantees every individual the right to healthcare and qualified medical assistance, outlines state responsibilities in providing free medical services within established programs, and promotes the development of both public and private healthcare systems. The law also addresses medical insurance, sanitary and epidemiological well-being, and access to healthcare services, including specialized care for persons with disabilities and palliative care for those with terminal illnesses. Additionally, it emphasizes the promotion of physical culture, sports, and a healthy lifestyle among the population.

Article 14. Right of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons to Health Protection

Foreign citizens present in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan are guaranteed the right to health protection in accordance with Uzbekistan's international treaties.
Stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan enjoy the right to health protection on an equal basis with the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The procedure for providing medical assistance to the persons mentioned in the first and second parts of this article is determined by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
