Description

The Declaration of Citizens' Rights of San Marino, was amended in 2002. It includes provisions on fundamental principles of democracy, equality, and individual freedoms. In Article 1 it states that The Republic of San Marino acknowledges universally recognized principles of international law as an essential part of its constitutional framework, and "reasserts the right to political asylum".
