Description

This decree establishes a Bureau for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons within Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for providing legal and administrative protection to refugees and stateless individuals in accordance with the 1951 Geneva Refugee Convention. It also creates an Appeal Commission to review decisions on refugee status denials and certain protective measures.
