Decree No. 2011-119/PRES/PM/MAECR of 2011 on the implementation of the Law on the Status of Refugees in Burkina Faso, provides the delivery of a refugee identity card to the refugee as soon as the refugee status is recognized (Article 44).
According to Article 45 of this Decree, the refugee identity card is a residence permit in Burkina Faso. It has a validity of two years renewable at request.
