Description

The Alien Act serves as Sweden’s principal legal framework for managing who may enter, reside in, or be removed from the country. It sets out the conditions under which a non-citizen must hold a passport, visa, residence permit, or work permit; describes special rights and obligations for EES-citizens, refugees, and those in need of protection; and regulates family-based immigration, study and research stays, as well as various forms of employment.
