Description
The Act enacted on 21 July 2009 as Chapter 11 of the Statutes of the Realm, establishes a unified legal framework for the exercise of customs and border functions—vesting key powers in the Secretary of State, a newly created Director of Border Revenue and designated officials. It also sets out detailed provisions for acquisition and registration of British citizenship by birth, descent, naturalisation and registration.
