Provision 19 - Procedure for the Implementation of Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Granting Political Asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, through the territorial internal affairs authority, notifies the applicant of the decision within seven days from the date of issuance of the decree by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Article 20 - Procedure for the Implementation of Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Granting Political Asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan

A person granted political asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as their family members, is issued a certificate in the form specified in Appendix No. 2 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan through the territorial internal affairs authority at the place where the application was submitted.

Article 21 - Issuance of ID Card for Political Asylum Holders

The territorial internal affairs authority, based on the certificate of granting political asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan, issues an identification ID card for a period of up to 5 years to the person specified in paragraph 20 of this Regulation.

Article 22 - Procedure for the Implementation of Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Granting Political Asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan informs the Commission on Citizenship under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan about the implementation of presidential decrees on granting political asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan twice a year based on half-year results.

Article 23 - Grounds and Procedure for the Termination of Political Asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan

A person who has been granted political asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan loses their asylum status in the following cases:
Voluntary return to their country of citizenship or country of permanent residence;
Relocation for permanent residence to a third country;
Voluntary renunciation of political asylum in the Republic of Uzbekistan;
Acquisition of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan or another country.
