Description
A Bill to prevent the smuggling of migrants. Whereas it is necessary to provide for effective measures to prevent the smuggling of migrants by land, sea and air, to promote and facilitate national and international cooperation in this regard and to protect the smuggled migrants and for matters connected therewith or ancillary thereto.
Selected provisions
Section 3 - Punishment of smuggling of migrants.
Whoever intentionally engages in or attempts to engage in the smuggling of migrants shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to five years but which shall not shall be less than years and with fine up to one million rupees.
