Do domestic laws and policies provide for the revocation of refugee status?
Assessment by population
Analysis
No specific procedure for the revocation of refugee status on the basis of acts committed after recognition was identified in the Migration and Aliens Law or its Regulations. Article 80 of the Regulations governs the loss of residence authorizations and Special Residence Permits (Permisos Especiales de Permanencia) in specific circumstances, including where false information, statements, reports or documents are subsequently established, where the beneficiary fails to comply with obligations established under the Law and its Regulations, or where the beneficiary remains outside Honduras for periods exceeding those authorized by the migration authorities.
However, Article 80 does not expressly regulate the revocation of refugee status itself or address situations involving acts committed after recognition that may fall within the scope of Article 1F(a) or Article 1F(c) of the 1951 Convention.
